Vacant Property Registration

A city ordinance requires annual registration of all vacant properties in Kansas City, Mo. The registration period runs from Dec. 1 to Jan. 31. Even if you entered or updated a property record earlier, the ordinance requires you to do an update during the official registration period. Failure to comply could result in a fine of $50 per property.

To register or re-register, simply review and update the information on each of your owner and property record screens. Click the Edit This profile link, as well as the Edit link for each property you own, to see full details and update them. Then on each screen, check the box at the bottom labeled "I have verified that all of the above information is correct," and click the Submit button, even if nothing has changed. When complete you should see the Last Verified date change to today’s date.
